OUR FOUNDER
Amie Satchu, a Los Angeles native, founded Living Beauty Cancer Foundation in 2005 in response to her mother’s diagnosis with multiple myeloma. Inspired by the beauty and fashion industries she worked in as a model, her original intent when starting the organization was to focus on “look good, feel good” events. However, Living Beauty rapidly became much more, meeting the complex emotional and physical needs of women cancer patients. Through its holistic approach, The Foundation educates, uplifts, and empowers women along their cancer journey through free wellness support programs in 47 states. They host over 120 program events per year and currently provide services to more than 1800 women. The Foundation places value on the importance of creating a strong support system for the women it serves and understands how that support can impact their quality of life and health outcomes.
Amie’s work outside of philanthropy, is fueled by her love and appreciation for the art history of jewelry design. As an educated collector and jewelry enthusiast, she works with private clients to thoughtfully curate and expand their collections, through her company Maison Mèrenor, a fine estate jewelry atelier specializing in sourcing unique and highly collectible jewelry. Mèrenor’s vast library of estate jewelry is heavily influenced by Amie’s love of the architecture, art, fashion and richness of the world that came before us, especially the exuberant gems and bold designs of the 1960s, 70s.
